Dog Boarding

A Working Farm Experience for Your Best Friend

Dog Boarding at Runchkin Hill

At Runchkin Hill Farm and Kennel, we provide more than just a place for your dog to sleep while you’re away. We are a premier training facility located on a beautiful working farm in West Newbury, offering a structured, safe, and engaging environment for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.

Please note: To ensure the highest level of care and consistency for our guests, we are currently only offering Board & Train services. Your dog won’t just be staying with us—they’ll be learning with us.

Why Board at Runchkin Hill?

We are not your typical high-volume “doggie hotel” or daycare. We are professional trainers first. This means your dog is under the supervision of experts who understand canine behavior, safety, and social dynamics.

  • Climate-Controlled Comfort: Your four-legged family members stay in our modern, temperature-controlled indoor facility, ensuring they are cozy in the winter and cool in the summer.
  • Active Farm Life: Our facility features expansive outdoor areas where dogs can run free, explore, and get the physical exercise they crave.
  • Privacy & Personal Space: Every dog has their own dedicated space to relax and decompress after a day of training and play.
  • No Breed Restrictions: We believe every dog deserves a safe place to stay. We welcome all breeds, including “bully” breeds and high-drive working dogs.
  • Unaltered Dogs Welcome: We have the experience and facility design to safely accommodate unaltered males and females.

The Board & Train Advantage

When you choose Runchkin Hill for your dog’s stay, they receive daily, professional interaction with our training staff. Instead of simply “waiting” for you to return, your dog will be:

  • Building foundational obedience (Sit, Down, Place, Recall).

  • Correcting unwanted behaviors in a consistent environment.

  • Engaging in mental stimulation that prevents “kennel stress.”

  • Maintaining their home feeding and medication schedules exactly as you’ve requested.

Health & Safety Requirements

To ensure the safety of all our guests, we require proof of current vaccinations before your dog’s arrival. Vaccinations must be up-to-date for your dog’s age:

  • Rabies

  • Distemper (DHLPP)

  • Bordetella

  • K9 Influenza (H3N2) is highly recommended but optional.
